46Ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος τοῖς ὄχλοις ἰδοὺ μήτηρ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ εἱστήκεισαν ἔξω ζητοῦντες αὐτῷ λαλῆσαι. 47[εἶπεν δέ τις αὐτῷ 31Καὶ ἔρχεται μήτηρ αὐτοῦ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔξω στήκοντες ἀπέστειλαν πρὸς αὐτὸν καλοῦντες αὐτόν. 32καὶ ἐκάθητο περὶ αὐτὸν ὄχλος, καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ 19Παρεγένετο δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν μήτηρ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἠδύναντο συντυχεῖν αὐτῷ διὰ τὸν ὄχλον. 20ἀπηγγέλη δὲ αὐτῷ Q may explain why Luke places this passage differently from Mark. It may also explain the minor agreements here. Furthermore the presence of this story in Thomas shows that this is a traditional passage that it would not be surprising to find in both Q and Mark.

Matthew's opening here resembles Luke 11:27, which is a Q passage.
47ἰδοὺ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου ἔξω ἑστήκασιν ζητοῦντές σοι λαλῆσαι.] 32ἰδοὺ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου [καὶ αἱ ἀδελφαί σου] ἔξω ζητοῦσίν σε. 20 μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου ἑστήκασιν ἔξω ἰδεῖν θέλοντές σε. Epiphanius, Panarion 30.14.5 has ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου ἔξω ἑστήκασιν in discussing the Gospel of the Ebionites, but he may not actually be quoting that gospel here.
48 δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν τῷ λέγοντι αὐτῷ 33καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτοῖς λέγει 21 δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς
48τίς ἐστιν μήτηρ μου καὶ τίνες εἰσὶν οἱ ἀδελφοί μου ; 33τίς ἐστιν μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί [μου] ; Epiphanius, Panarion 30.14.5, quoting the Gospel of the Ebionites, has τίς μού ἐστι μήτηρ καὶ ἀδελφοί;
49καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ εἶπεν 34καὶ περιβλεψάμενος τοὺς περὶ αὐτὸν κύκλῳ καθημένους λέγει Matthew agrees with the Gospel of the Ebionites here. The latter has καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἐπὶ τοὺς μαθητὰς ἔφη.
49ἰδοὺ μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί μου. 50ὅστις γὰρ ἂν ποιήσῃ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν οὐρανοῖς αὐτός μου ἀδελφὸς καὶ ἀδελφὴ καὶ μήτηρ ἐστίν. 34ἴδε μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί μου. 35ὃς [γὰρ] ἂν ποιήσῃ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ, οὗτος ἀδελφός μου καὶ ἀδελφὴ καὶ μήτηρ ἐστίν. 21μήτηρ μου καὶ ἀδελφοί μου οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ ἀκούοντες καὶ ποιοῦντες. Matthew agrees with Thomas and the Gospel of the Ebionites in "my Father." Luke agrees with the Gospel of the Ebionites (and to a lesser extent the Gospel of Thomas) in "these." The Gospel of the Ebionites has: οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ ἀδελφοί μου καὶ ἡ μήτηρ καὶ ἀδελφαί οἱ ποιοῦντες τὰ θελήματα τοῦ πατρός μου.
